Venture Partner, Volo Earth Ventures

Erin Sawyer is a Venture Partner at Volo Earth Ventures, where she is a member of the Investment Team and advises portfolio companies on scaling operations, supply chain, and manufacturing. Volo Earth focuses on early-stage climate technologies across electricity, mobility, buildings, and industry.

Prior to Volo Earth, Erin was Vice President of Supply Chain at Wrightspeed, where she built and led the supply chain organization for electric powertrains serving heavy-duty commercial vehicle applications. Earlier, she was Group Manager of Core Technologies at Tesla, where she executed global sourcing strategies and drove significant cost reductions across the Model S and Model X platforms during a period of rapid global scale.

Erin began her career in engineering, program management, and purchasing roles at Ford Motor Company, Cummins, and Honeywell, building a foundation in emissions reduction technologies, global strategic sourcing, and launching products into high volume manufacturing environments.

In addition to her professional work, Erin is an accomplished leader in nonprofit organizations focused on advancing women in STEM. She serves on the Strategic Directorate of the Society of Women Engineers and has endowed the Erin E. Sawyer Scholarship to support female engineering students.

Erin earned her Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. She also serves as a guest lecturer at the Kellogg School of Management, teaching Operations Strategy and Organizational Management.
